Equator Principles Training - Global

We were appointed by an international Finance Institution who are one of the founding signatories of the Equator Principles to deliver training seminars and materials on the revised Equator Principles (EP4) for their US and Asia Project Finance and Real Estate Teams.

The client needed trusted Environmental and Social (E&S) professionals that could develop and deliver bespoke training. As informed and experienced advisors we provided practical and knowledgeable support to the teams, with a focus on risk management to enable responsible financing and transactions.

Earth Active ran a series of WebX sessions focusing on the changes to EP4 requirements to raise the awareness and understanding of front-line project financing and real estate personnel. The training also covered EP4’s specific requirements relating to climate change risk assessments (including both physical and transitional risks) and alignment with the TCFD guidelines. We presented four separate sessions, two each on Project Financing and Real Estate development, for the Asia and US teams (in different time zones), all recorded for use by the Bank in future training. The interactive sessions were attended by more than 400 of the Bank’s front line Project Finance and Real Estate Managers. These personnel have gained a thorough understanding of the EP4 requirements based on real-world case studies and discussions, enabling the Bank to demonstrate its compliance with its EPFI commitments. Additionally, the increased EP4 and E&S awareness will enable the teams to pro-actively and earlier identify EP4 triggers and E&S issues thus avoiding transaction delays.
