Earth Active was appointed as ESG Advisor to Growthfund, the €6 billion Sovereign Wealth Fund of Greece, in early 2022. Growthfund has a diverse portfolio of companies ranging from large, listed utilities to niche, single site activities.
A key component of the appointment involved a detailed review of voluntary reporting frameworks across the entire ESG spectrum to identify those that are relevant to Growthfund and its portfolio as well as a benchmarking exercise against other sovereign wealth funds.
A series of capacity-building workshops were also developed for Growthfund's senior management, which included detailed consideration of materiality.
We also developed a bespoke CSRD gap analysis tool to assess the readiness of Growthfund and its portfolio for the requirements of this game changing legislation.
An ESG Strategy and costed Action Plan were then developed covering a three-year implementation period.
We have also supported Growthfund in discussions with ESG ratings agencies and will soon be guiding its application to be a UN Global Compact signatory.
