Corporate biodiversity strategies and disclosures

Rob works in the biodiversity team, where he is involved in developing corporate strategies for nature, managing project research teams, and mainstreaming biodiversity into corporate and financial decision-making, alongside international project safeguards such as IFC Performance Standards.

Before joining Earth Active, he spent two years in the conservation sector at UNEP-WCMC. In this role, he explored how businesses, financial institutions, and governments can contribute to achieving full nature recovery by 2050 in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. On a day-to-day basis, this involved developing corporate strategies, collaborating with emerging reporting frameworks like the Science-based Targets Network, and conducting research on nature-related risks and opportunities.

Rob brings five years of previous consulting experience from his time at Arup, where he focussed on the built environment. His expertise spanned environmental assessments (including EcIA and BNG), sustainability assessments (such as BREEAM), ecological enhancements, and foresight research (particularly in regenerative design). All based on an academic foundation in urban studies and ecology.

Outside work, Rob likes the cinema and the bagpipes.
