Guy is a Co-Founder and Director at Earth Active with over 30 years' experience in client management, operational and delivery leadership. His experience includes coordinating international project teamwork in over 60 countries across ESG, environmental, due diligence, compliance, sustainability, energy and product stewardship assignments for IFI, Private Equity, commercial, industrial and agribusiness clients. Guy has extensive experience in supporting investors and funders, including EBRD, IFC, DFC, FMO and the UK Government.
Example projects at Earth Active include: advising the Somaliland Development Fund for 3 years to date reviewing all ESG aspects of new proposed investments; leading the team in developing a biodiversity strategy for one of the world's biggest supermarkets; one-month in India providing monitoring and evaluation reviews of major investments by an international DFI; heading an 18month project to review all ESG matters for a Dutch consortium developing new agricultural export markets from several countries in Africa.
Guy previously led the transactional and due diligence advisory team across Europe, Middle East and Africa for one the largest global environmental consulting firm and has been a leader in supporting Multinational Clients across many business sectors in all their investments and operations. He also led the consulting support for over 10 years for one of the world's largest agribusiness firms – in charge of projects up to £5million in value and teams up to 130 staff, including pan-Europe environmental stewardship assessments across 28 countries; construction of a $200m production plant in Brazil; and due diligence advisory world-wide.
Guy has personal on-site work experience in over 25 countries – especially supporting major development banks and international donors and investors across Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has degrees in Geology and Earth & Environmental Science and started his career as a hydrogeologist working on site characterisation, environmental remediation, and water supply projects in the USA.
