Michael has 30 years’ experience in ESG and sustainability, focusing on pragmatic risk management, leadership and capacity building, organizational growth and transformation. Trained as a Mechanical Engineer and with a Doctorate of Business Administration, Michael has been awarded Fellow status of IEMA and IIRSM, is a Chartered Environmentalist, registered on the UK Occupational Health and Safety Register and is a certified Executive Coach.
Michael has worked within corporate, NGO and consulting roles, across a wide variety of sectors and regions having lived and worked for several years in Southern Africa, the UK and MENA. One of his core strengths is his focus on practical and people-centric solutions which he accomplishes by integrating his technical, management and social competencies. Michael is currently leading and delivering ESG, Carbon and Climate Change projects for corporate clients, DFIs, FIs and PE Funds. In short, Michael is a professional ESG generalist with a suite of management and technical experience that enables him to coach and lead organizations to deliver on their environmental and social ambitions.
Outside of work he is an amateur cook who likes pickling, fermenting and making sourdough bread. During the summer months he tries to grow vegetables and tends his bonsais.
