Clair’s broad consultancy and research experience spans over 28 years and encompasses environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), environmental and social due diligence (ESDD), environmental and social management systems (ESMS), numerical assessment and modelling approaches and management of major research projects. She has broad sector experience with expertise in energy and renewables, extractives and infrastructure.
Originally trained as a Zoologist with an MA (Hons) from Cambridge and has an MSc (with distinction) in Environmental Protection. Clair has undertaken postgraduate research in Marine Biology and has an LLM (with distinction) in Environmental Law.
She has a strong background in project development, particularly in the renewable energy sector, providing strategic advice on the legislative and policy landscape from inception to implementation as well as acting as Consents and Project Director on numerous complex projects and programmes including several UK government funded projects with a total contract value of over £4 billion. Clair has held leadership roles in a number of organisations and works effectively across client, consulting and contracting teams.
