As we recognise National Tree Week, the significance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles takes root in our consciousness. Much like the roots of a tree, Earth Active’s ESG services provide a robust foundation for companies aiming to grow and invest ethically and sustainably, whilst protecting the diverse foliage that enriches our landscapes.
Trees aren’t just a symbol of environmental consideration but also a valuable asset in the fight against climate change. We often harness the carbon and biodiversity value of trees to guide our clients’ financial transactions towards sustainable practices. By engaging in reforestation and sustainable forestry practices, carbon credits can be generated and traded in carbon markets, translating environmental responsibility into economic advantages.
As we embark on new projects in new places, we have recently added Madagascar to our project portfolio map. Getting to work in remote countries such as Madagascar could ultimately help to protect iconic species such as Madagascar’s National Tree, the Grandidier Baobab (Adansonia grandidieri), with its bulbous trunk and branches that appear to be upside down. The Baobab Tree is a truly remarkable plant, able to survive in harsh and arid environments thanks to its ability to store large amounts of water in its trunk. Baobabs have graced the African landscape for thousands of years, reaching great heights of over 30 metres.
Together, as we work with financial institutions and our international network of multi-disciplinary specialist, we aim to nurture a sustainable future, where the roots of ESG principles run deep, supporting growth that benefits us all.
Happy National Tree Week!
