Earth Active is pleased to be working with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to provide an Environment and Social Due Diligence expertise for the Kyzylorda to Zhezkazgan Road Development in Kazakhstan. Once we’ve determined the significance of potential project impacts, Earth Active will conduct either an Initial Environmental Evaluation (IEE) or Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) that will ensure biodiversity, climate change, social, environmental and cultural heritage issues are factored into project design.
Our consultants will help ADB to provide Technical Assistance to the Kazakh Road Committee to upgrade and rehabilitate this 208km stretch of road, which forms part of ADB’s Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridors (CAREC) Programme. The programme is intended to improve road quality and connectivity, enhancing north-south trade movement in the region, and in doing so, will drive business and commercial development in local towns such as Zhezkazgan, as well as reducing transport costs between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia.
