Earth Active joins Global Ecology and Environmental Group

Earth Active, the global environmental project-finance firm known for unlocking billions by aligning investment with international environmental standards, today announced its integration into Global Ecology and Environmental Group.

For Earth Active, this marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution and long-term growth strategy. By joining forces with Ecology Group, an organisation advancing toward global market leadership in ecological and environmental consultancy, Earth Active strengthens its capacity to deliver high-impact, world-class services to clients across the globe.

Founded in 2018, Earth Active has built a strong reputation for its extensive experience working with development finance institutions (DFIs), commercial banks, private equity firms, and project developers. The company specialises in de-risking investments in some of the world’s most challenging environments, identifying and resolving issues, supporting communications and disclosures, and building institutional capacity for financial institutions and their corporate clients.

Neil Jeffery, CEO of Earth Active, commented:

“Over the last twelve months, Earth Active has invested heavily in our people, capabilities, and systems. These investments have delivered sustained business and revenue growth. Now, by joining Ecology Group, we can accelerate our progress towards achieving long-term growth and impact.

“We will leverage Ecology Group’s enhanced efficiencies, talent management, and commitment to high-quality services to solidify our position. With our expertise, we look forward to playing an active role in driving the Group’s growth and strategy. The whole team is excited for the years ahead and the positive change this will bring.”

As part of this integration, Living Earth, a business founded alongside Earth Active by Rob Evans, will also join Ecology Group. Living Earth serves as the crucial link between climate finance and nature-based solutions delivered by communities on the ground. Its model ensures that projects, even in the most complex and remote landscapes, are viable and investable.

Rob Evans, founder of Earth Active and Living Earth, said:

“Living Earth is delighted to join Ecology Group and eager to expand the impact of our nature-based solutions services. Living Earth and Ecology Group share a commitment to demonstrating the business value of nature restoration. Together, we will catalyse our expertise while exploring opportunities for expansion, including into new geographies.”

With projects spanning Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America, and deep expertise across climate change, resilience, social impact, and performance, Earth Active brings a wealth of global experience to Ecology Group.

This transition comes at a pivotal moment for Ecology Group’s growth. Earth Active and Living Earth’s leadership and teams will play a key role in helping build a market-leading consultancy that draws on the collective knowledge and strengths of all businesses within the Group.

Ecology Group’s model centres on investing in the organic growth of each business that joins its platform, providing resources, operational support, and opportunities to expand service lines and enhance positive impact. Earth Active and Living Earth represent the second acquisition since the Group’s establishment earlier this year, following the addition of MKA Ecology in the spring.

Chris Heyes, CFO of Ecology Group, said:

“I’m thrilled to welcome Earth Active and Living Earth to our growing, ambitious business. Earth Active has deep expertise in managing environmental risk in project finance investments, particularly through its strong track record with DFIs, commercial banks, and developers in complex emerging markets. Combined with Living Earth’s unique role connecting investors with nature-based solutions, this integration positions our Group as a global partner of choice for investors.”
