We have renewed our focus on the health and safety of staff while travelling for work since Earth Active is involved in projects around the world. Where possible we advocate using local drivers as the safest option. However, sometimes in inaccessible regions there is no other reasonable option so we have equipped nine staff members with additional training.
The team now hold defensive driving certificates from Junction 17 Defensive Driver Training. Our team travelled to Essex to spend time behind the wheel with instructors including a session at the Essex Skid Pan, 1-1 driving instruction on the local road network and understanding how a vehicle can lose control, what it feels like and how to get back in control. It was a hugely beneficial (and fun) day!
